Application Process & FAQs
The Step By Step Process
-
We can talk you through if we believe a Groodle best suits your individual, family and/or organisational needs. It’s important to us that you have enough information to help you make this big decision, as it is a commitment to accepting and loving a new family member into your life.
-
After we have discussed the process with you and you feel you would like to commit to purchase a puppy, it’s time to fill out our online Puppy Application form. This allows us to gather information about your contact details, the lifestyle you lead and your puppy preferences. Please only complete this form if you would like to proceed, and feel that all of your questions and/or concerns have been answered.
-
Once your application form has been reviewed, we will send you an email to confirm your placement on our waitlist. Being on the waitlist signifies your readiness and commitment to welcoming a puppy, which we take seriously due to limited availability. To secure your puppy, we require a deposit of AU$500.00 to be made to our bank account. This deposit, along with the puppy application, ensures that we communicate with individuals and families genuinely interested in adding a puppy to their home. We will also inform you of your waitlist number at this stage. In the event of a litter of eight, the first eight on the waitlist will receive priority. If the litter is smaller, the first four (or respective number) will have preference. Please note that a puppy is only secured upon receipt of the deposit payment. We will keep you informed of any litters born and update you on your current position on the waitlist.
-
Your deposit goes towards the full purchase price of AU$5,000 (unless priced otherwise). The remaining balance is due when you pick up your new companion, or if your puppy is flying interstate, it is due 3 business days before the flight. Deposits are non-refundable, however transferable to a future litter. Please be assured, our puppies come from top-quality bloodlines and receive the best care possible. From their living environment to the food they eat, we spare no expense in ensuring your Groodle is healthy, happy, well-socialised and Veterinary checked.

At six weeks old, it's time to allocate our precious puppies to their new homes! This is a thorough and careful process that we do in collaboration with you. We take into consideration many factors when choosing which puppy is most suitable for your home. For instance, we consider the coat type for allergy sufferers, temperament, activity level of the pup, and of course, your preferences as a buyer. We get to know each of our puppies intimately from birth. With regular handling and observation of litter dynamics and puppy temperament, we gain valuable insights into their unique personalities and tendencies. When it comes time to allocate your new furry friend, we'll have all the information we need, paired with your puppy application, to make the best possible match for you and your family.

We live on the Gold Coast, Queensland. We are approximately 1.5 hours from Brisbane airport. You can collect your puppy from our property, or we can organise transport through our preferred provider for you. Currently we use Dogtainers, a reputable, country-wide transportation company. Transport to Australian states tends to fall between AU$200.00 and AU$320.00 depending on your location. We charge an additional $50.00 for transporting your pup to Brisbane airport. This will be added to the total cost of your puppy.
-
We LOVE receiving updates on how your new family member is going at home. We welcome photos and feedback. Transitioning your puppy into its new life in your home can sometimes be challenging, so please know we are always open to any questions you may have.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
A hypoallergenic coat is a type of coat that is less likely to cause allergic reactions in people who are prone to allergies. This can be due to the coat not shedding much or having less dander (dead skin cells) that can cause allergies. This is a real game-changer for allergy sufferers.
Keeping in mind no dog breed is completely hypoallergenic, meaning shed’s no hair at all, but if it’s the type of allergy that reacts to dog dander, this kind of coat is your best bet at having no reaction.
Note – if you suffer from a dog allergy that is brought on by it’s saliva, the reaction will be the same to our Groodles with hypoallergenic coats.

A Groodle, at conception, is a hybrid dog breed that is created by crossing a Golden Retriever with a Poodle. Like many hybrid breeds, there can be variation in the generations of Groodles, in size, coat types, health benefits and temperaments.
Here are the commonly recognized generations of Groodles:
F1: The first generation of Groodles is the F1. This is when a purebred Poodle is crossed with a purebred Golden Retriever. The resulting offspring are 50% Poodle and 50% Golden Retriever.
F1B: The F1B generation is created by crossing an F1 Groodle with a purebred Poodle. This breeding results in puppies that are 75% Poodle and 25% Golden Retriever. F1B Groodles tend to have a curly coat and are often even more hypoallergenic than F1 Groodles.
F2: An F2 Groodle is created by crossing two F1 Groodles together. The resulting puppies are 50% Poodle and 50% Golden Retriever, just like the F1 generation.
F2B: The F2B generation is created by crossing an F1 Groodle with an F1B Groodle. This breeding results in puppies that are 62.5% Poodle and 37.5% Golden Retriever. F2B Groodles can have a curly or wavy coat and are usually low-shedding.
F3 or Multi-Generational: A Gold Coast Groodle! A multi-generational Groodle is created by crossing a Groodle with another Groodle for several generations. These dogs are usually at least third-generation Groodles and can have a more consistent appearance and coat type. We are proud to offer puppies that have beautiful, hypoallergenic coats of medium and standard size.

These adorable pups are full of energy and love to play, but it's important to remember that they don't need to run a marathon every day.
After your puppy has finished it’s vaccination schedule at 12 weeks of age, a 15-30 minute walk on a leash is perfect for their daily exercise. Too much exercise at a young age can cause lasting damage to their developing bones, and we don't want that!
As your Groodle grows into an adult, they'll still need daily exercise, but they'll be able to handle a bit more. A 45 minute to 1 hour walk a day will have their tales wagging. They’re super adventurous and social and love to play, swim, and run around with other pups at the dog park or beach! The duck hunting dog within them just LOVES the water!

The main difference between a medium Groodle and a standard Groodle is their size. A medium female Groodle typically weighs between 15kg to 18kg and male 18kg to 22kg. A standard size female Groodle typically weighs between 18kg to 24kg while a standard male can weigh between 22kg to 28kg.
In terms of height, a medium Groodle usually stands around 45cm to 55cm tall at the shoulder, while a standard Groodle is usually around 55cm to 65cm tall. This means that a standard Groodle is generally taller and larger overall than a medium Groodle. We find that our males tend to grow on the larger side of both weight and height ranges listed above.
In terms of exercise needs, both medium and standard Groodles require regular exercise to stay healthy and happy.
It’s important to consider the size that will best suit your lifestyle and living situation, as both sizes have their own unique benefits and considerations.
